There are so many different cleaning products available these days but unfortunately most of them are filled with chemicals that can be damaging to our health. Many people are now thinking twice about using these toxic cleaning products and are instead turning back to old fashioned methods of cleaning using baking soda and vinegar.
These natural cleaning products will keep your home sparkling clean and fresh without putting your health at risk by breathing harmful chemicals. Instead your home will be fresh and clear with natural products. Let’s take a look at some of the cleaning uses of vinegar and baking powder.
Baking Soda
Baking soda has many different uses and here are just a few that you can use for cleaning around the home.
Bathroom – baking soda is great for cleaning bathroom surfaces like baths and basins when used as an abrasive cleaner. To use as an abrasive cleaner just mix a little baking soda with a little water to form a paste. Put some of the paste on a damp cloth and wipe the surface to get a brilliant clean.
Kitchen – once again, used as an abrasive cleaner baking soda is great on kitchen sinks, bench tops and even stove tops. Mix to a paste and you can clean almost the whole kitchen. You can also soak coffee and tea stained cups in some baking soda and water to get them nice and white again.
Whole Home – baking soda is a great deodorizer and it is very effective when placed in the freezer or refrigerator to absorb any unwanted odors. You can put it anywhere in the home where you want some deodorizing action and your home will always smell fresh.
Vinegar
Vinegar is a natural all-purpose cleaner. To use vinegar for cleaning just mix one part vinegar to one part water and put it in a spray bottle and you can use this mixture to clean most areas of your home. Vinegar works as both a disinfectant and a deodorizer and is safe to use on most surfaces. Vinegar shouldn’t be used on marble surfaces and if it isn’t properly diluted it can eat away at tile grout. Some uses for vinegar are:
Bathroom – You can use vinegar to clean the sink, bath, vanity tops and the toilet. To get rid of harder to move marks in the toiler use pure, undiluted vinegar. Remove the water from the bottom of the toilet and pour in the undiluted vinegar then scrub down the bowl. You can also use a vinegar and water mixture to mop the floor.
Kitchen – You can use vinegar to clean your kitchen appliances, sink, stovetop, bench tops and the floor. It really is the best multi-purpose cleaner.
Laundry – You can also use vinegar while doing your washing as a natural fabric softener. Just add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle and it will help soften your clothes and break down laundry detergent more effectively.
Baking soda and vinegar will help keep your home fresh and clean naturally and your family’s health will benefit from them too. Along with the cleaning and health benefits, these two amazing natural products are also good for the budget as they are much more cost effective that chemical cleaning products.

And with one application the rash is about 80% gone. Have no idea what the rash is, but I am a true beliver.
Hi, I used to work at a bakery that made us scrub the floors with vinegar. To this day I cannot stand the smell of vinegar. Is there anything I can add to the vinegar/baking soda mix so the smell isnt so strong?
